Root Canals

Do you have a painful tooth? At Flora Dental, we provide root canal treatments to treat tooth decay immediately. We strive to provide high-quality dentistry for a lifetime of smiles!

What is a Root Canal?

A root canal occurs due to an infected pulp—the center of the tooth—and causes tooth decay. The pulp comprises essential blood vessels, tissue and nerve endings. You may begin to feel sharp pain if tooth decay is left untreated over time.

Do I need a Root Canal?

You may need a root canal if you are experiencing:

  • Tender gums

  • Dark-colored teeth

  • Tooth sensitivity to hot/cold

Treatment

A comprehensive oral exam will be performed to analyze your current state of tooth decay to determine which level of treatment will be provided. Depending on your tolerance for pain, local anesthesia along with oral sedation will be provided to make you as comfortable as possible.

An instrument is used to remove the infected pulp directly from your tooth. The canal will be cleaned and sealed with a rubber-like substance called gutta percha.
